Silt Traps And Catchpits For Attenuation
At the first stage of an attenuation system, a prefilter serves a key purpose in ensuring water quality before it enters the attenuation system (usually a Geocellular attenuation tank). Often a silt trap or catchpit chamber, the prefilter is used to catch debris, improve water quality and prevent blockages further in the system. The requirement of either a silt trap or catchpit chamber is very much dependent on the size and composition of the attenuation system. Generally, a silt trap is more commonly used for smaller, more domestic applications whereas an inspection chamber is more typical in larger, commercial systems.
SiltGuard Silt Traps by Turtle Enviro are designed with attenuation applications in mind and are one of the leading specified and used range of silt management products in the UK sustainable drainage market.
